Folios 227-228: Henry Ducie Chads, HMS Columbia, Portsmouth. Thanks their Lordships for their response to his request and says the report on Mr Jeans was sent on the 4th Feb with Sir Michael Bickerston's letter no. 213, since when he has not been able to return to duty.
Folio 229: enclosure with folios 227-228. Letter dated 5 February 1814, by Chads, saying Mr I. T. Jeans, first lieutenant of the Columbia, has been found unfit for service by a hospital survey and requesting that Lieutenant John Houghton be appointed in his stead. Houghton is currently in HMS Achilles, but Captain Hollis is agreeable to the move.
