Description

Folios 178-179: Robert Little Coulson, HMS Stork, Stromness. Advising that in the event of the Ceylon not having arrived, he encloses a copy of Captain Rye's orders to Lieutenant Morgan re weighing the buoy on the Knobing End, off the Island of Anholt, and Morgan's report.

Folio 180: enclosure with folios 178-179. Orders dated 9 December 1813 by Captain Peter Rye, of HMS Ceylon, off the Wingo, ordering Lieutenant Morgan, in the schooner Barbara, to head for the Island of Anholt, to weigh the buoy on the Knobing End, and then to go to Hawke Road to receive orders from Captain Coulson. On the reverse, a report from Lieutenant J. Morgan, on the Barbara, dated 12 December, saying he had attempted to weigh the buoy but the chain had broken and he saw no chance of repairing it due to the state of the weather.
