Folio 173: From James Sykes of Arundel Street. On behalf of Captain John Smith Cowan, who from the enclosed certificate [not now present] signed by the surgeon of Torpoint, Mr Smith, has 'for some time past been in a state of lunacy'. Therefore requests their Lordships to direct that his affidavit for halfpay be suspended, for such time as he is afflicted.
