Folios 427-428: William Croft, Regulating Officer, Hull. Lieutenant Button impressed William Wood, Edward Garland, John Allen and Edward Clements from the Haroke cutter drinking in the Golden Cup public house. The Captain was upstairs drinking tea and says that, as he had given them nothing to drink and they were there by his orders, they were on duty. Anybody drinking cannot be said to be on duty.
