Description

Folios 406-407: Benjamin Carter Regulating Officer, Cork. Peter Jess was received as a Volunteer but his rating was reduced by a survey on HMS Prince Frederick so he withheld payment to William Murphy who became insolent.

Folios 408-409: enclosure with folios 406-407. Letter dated 29 April 1813 by William Murphy, Fisherman, Cork. He brought a Seaman in to the Navy and got a receipt but Captain Carter refused to pay the two guineas stated on the attached receipt from Edward Townsend.
