Folios 227-228: William Croft, Regulating Officer, Hull. Thomas Jackson, described, was impressed properly and will be in Yarmouth on the tender, but one of the Midshipmen says that Croft's predecessor, Captain Grey, used to allow Carpenters to go ashore with being impressed.
Folios 229-230: enclosure with folios 227-228. Letter dated 16 March 1813 by John Hall, Hull. Thomas Jackson, Carpenter on the Cognac was due to sail to Brazil when he was improperly impressed as Carpenters are allowed ashore.
