Folios 228-229: Charles Claridge, Plummer Street, City Road. Recounting his personal history since the Battle of the Nile in 1798, involving appointment as acting lieutenant on HMS Defence and then, by Lord St Vincent to command HMS Entreprenante; but that, as a result of long illness and failure to produce full accounts, his pay has been docked, leaving him in great distress,"bordering on starvation".
