Description

Folios 555-556: Edwin Henry Chamberlayne, HMS Unite, off Mount Etna. States the case of Walter Scott late Midshipman of HMS Temeraire while under his command as having been put by him before the mast, the particulars of which as stated by Walter Scott, an accompanying letter from Whitmore Davis, his Uncle, details. [Letter gives details over two plus sides of foolscap - Mentions:- Cadiz in March 1810, Captain [Ross] Donelly [Donnelly], HMS Invincible, Captain Charles Adam, HMS Resistance, Acting Captain [John] Hollingworth].

Folio 557: enclosure with folios 555-556. Letter dated 10 December 1811 by Whitmore Davis, Custom House, Dublin, to the Admiralty. [Letter about the way his Nephew was treated].
