Folios 545-546: Hood Hanway Christian, HMS Iris, Hamoaze. Represents that the Boatswain of HMS Iris is from age and long service incapable of performing his duty and wishes to get a Ship in Ordinary. Requests in the event of you being able to appoint him to a Ship in Ordinary you will be pleased to allow of his being put on the Cheque of this Port until opportunity shall appear. Recommends Alexander Henderson, Boatswain of HMS Otter, now in Ordinary, who appears to be an Active young man and of good character and request he be appointed to HMS Iris.
