Folios 536-537: John Carter, HMS Thracian, Spithead. States that on his arrival in England and subsequently paying of HMS Hyacinth in May 1811, seven of her men were discharged by order of Sir Roger Curtis into HMS Hanibal [Hannibal] giving up their long leave (of fourteen days) for the purpose of being kept together with the hope of joining any vessel he might be appointed too. As HMS Thracian is full that number short of compliment he requests them to be removed. [from HMS Hannibal to HMS Thracian]. Also states that the Captain [Andrew King] who received them promised that on his appointment he would do as much in his power to [transfer] them.
