Folios 392-393: George Cockburn, Cavendish Square. Lieutenant Cairnes who has just arrived from HMS Rota will take this note to Sir Joseph, requesting that he will order his commission to be made out for HMS Grampus in lieu of the only Lieutenant remaining of the old set.
Folio 394: Enclosure with folios 392-393: Note dated 28 November 1811. Lieutenant Obrand (sp?) is appointed but relieve him by the Officer Commodore Cockburn wishes and appoint him to another ship.
