Folios 390-391: William Croft, Regulating Captain, Hull Rendezvous. Joseph Lumly, apprentice to Robert Guildendale of Kingston has been detained because his protection says he was bound on 3 November [1810] and was never at sea before that date. The lad says he was apprenticed to Mr Barker of Hull and had served him for a year last August when Mr Barker bound him over to Robert Guildendall, the Captain of his vessel, for the remainder of his apprenticeship. He can produce no indentures so he suspects fraud. Asks for directions.
