Folios 196-197: William Croft, HMS Alacrity, Little Nore. Reports that he has carried two 6-pounders and two 12-pounders with no problem, but upon trial is convinced that two long nines would be more useful and take up less room. As other vessels of his class have been so fitted, hopes that his request will be granted.
