Folios 181-182: Benjamin Crispin, West Lulworth, Dortset. He was First Lieutenant on HMS Caesar under Sir Richard Strachan's command on 4 November 1805 when a French squadron was captured. Shortly after he was promoted to Commander and put on half pay, where he has remained ever since. He now understands that a number of ships of different descriptions for the rank of Commander are coming forward for the North Sea, and as he has commanded a vessel in The Baltic under Lord Nelson, and is acquainted with the area, requests a position.
