Folios 126-127: Malcolm Cowan, 40 Devonshire Place, Marylebone, London. Further letter about his improvement for sails. Requests that this is continued, and that he is allowed to continue to inspect the making of the sails. As te small ships need to keep close to shore at times, he deduces that the proposal will be particularly suitable for Sloops of war and Gun Brigs. P.s. is waiting to fit the Pigeon schooner with sails as it is now refitting at Sheerness.
Folios 128-129: enclosure with folios 126-127. Admiralty note regarding Captain Cowan's first and second inventions, with dates.
