Folios 596-597: Samuel Colquitt, HMS Princess, Liverpool. Reports an Officer from HMS Princess boarded the Bremen galliot, Dankbaikeit [Dankbarkeit?], John Köper, Master, arrived 23 October to examine her papers. She made her voyage under HM Royal License granted to Messers Hulbert, James & Co, London Merchants dated 22 July 1807 which is expressly for six neutral ships to sail from Bremen and other ports in the Rivers Ems and Wesser provided the vessels names and their commanders are indorsed on the Royal License’s reverse. He reports the matter as the owners have not endorsed the back saying it appears to him to be fraud might be committed, although he hasn’t hindered the consignees proceeding with Customs and Excise in the cargo’s disposal.
