Folios 585-586: Samuel Colquitt, HMS Princess, Liverpool. Received letter 28 September enclosing one from the mother of Alexander and Samuel Middleton requesting her son’s discharge. Reports he has discharged them on his Lordships directions finding their case as represented. Returns enclosure.
Folios 587-587A: enclosed in folios 585-586. Letter dated 25 September 1807 by Sarah Middleton, 86 Shued Hill [Shudehill], Manchester. Says her husband was lost His Majesties Service leaving a fatherless family. Petitions for the discharge of her two boys Alexander the oldest aged 12 and Samuel aged 10 who left their widowed mother and went to Liverpool, entering HMS Princess 15 September. Witness, Josh. Griffiths, Minister.
