Folios 575G-575H: Samuel Colquitt, HMS Princess, Liverpool. Sends letter from William Piercy, Surgeon about John Haycock, Supernumerary Ordinary and patient in the ship’s hospital saying his case is as is stated. Seeks directions requesting what plan he should adopt in future for such men as the usual mode is impracticable as there’s no Port Surgeon.
Folios 575I-575J: enclosed in folios 570-571. Letter dated 18 September 1807 by William Piercy, Surgeon, HMS Princess to Captain Colquitt. Reports John Haycock an impressed Supernumerary in the hospital developed since being onboard a mortification on his left leg which has lost its substance leaving a large portion on the Tibia bone exposed and denuded of periostaeum. He’s attended by hectic fever and unfit for service.
