Folios 566-567: Samuel Colquitt, HMS Princess, Liverpool. Acknowledges receipt of letter 8 September with one from D. Walker, Purser, HMS Princess asking why he didn’t account for the state and condition of the ship in the usual manner. Says he didn’t think Mr Walker would make use of his name or write the enclosed letter. He asked him on 5th September as he does not have a Clerk to make out the weekly account and write the usual letter which he’d sign at the same time as examining the accounts. Mr Walker’s explanation was that he sent the letter because he’d lost the original he had signed and pleaded he was in ignorance as he’d only been in the service for two years. Asks their Lordships determine whether his conduct necessitates a Court Martial.
Folios 568-569: enclosed in folios 566-567. Letter dated 5 September 1807 by Dennison Walker, Purser, HMS Princess. Sends enclosed weekly accounts for HMS Princess [accounts no longer present].
