Folio 555: Samuel Colquitt, HMS Princess, Liverpool. Replies to letter 3 September stating that Mr G. Bradstock had said he’d placed a man on board the Neptune to prevent her cargo being unloaded and to state on whose authority and to leave immediately. Reports the Neptune is a Danish barque and the Master had told him the cargo was Danish property, no one had appeared to claim to the contrary and that their Lordships had issued orders to detain Danish ships. He put an Officer on board while she was in the line while she could escape and handed her to the Collector of Taxes who has not allowed the cargo to be landed.
