Folios 465-466: Samuel Colquitt, HMS Princess, Liverpool. Acknowledging letter of 22nd with enclosure about John Kendell which he returns, saying he has told the father about the favor to allow a substitution.
Folios 467-468: enclosed in folios 465-466. Letter dated 20 May 1807 by Mr Kendell, Joiner, 17 Leigh Street, Liverpool. Says his son John Kendell age fifteen disobeyed him at work and went to Lieutenant Rees at the Bird Street Rendezvous House and entered HMS Princess on the Mersey. Says he has five children and John being the oldest is the only one who can help him with making a living for his large family. Asks can he be discharged on production of a Landsman substitute.
