Folios 130-131: Edward Sneyd Clay, Regulating Officer, Belfast. Reply to letter of 29th he’s only just received. Reports Fergus McClements, Carpenter was onboard the William brig to see the Mate, also brought up by William Richie, Belfast Shipbuilder when HMS Muro’s boat came along side and took him as he could no’t show them a Protection. He served his apprenticeship with Mr Richie and was employed by him till the day he was impressed. Says it’s true, his wife and three children under the age of four are now destitute.
Folios 132-133: enclosed in folios 130-131. Petition, Mary McClements, Belfast, County Antrim. Fergus McClements her husband a Ships Carpenter was impressed about 25th August and is now onboard HMS Muros. Says he’ is weak in health and her young family having no one to rely on are reduced to the lowest ebb of distress at her husband’'s loss of trade. Witnessed, Dr James McDaniel, MD, William Anderson, Druggist and Apothecary and William Ritchie.
