Folios 124-125: Edward Sneyd Clay, Regulating Officer, Belfast. Reports on his services and injuries. Severely wounded in his right thigh during the Dutch Action as a Lieutenant under the late Lord Duncan on HMS Venerable. He transferred with Duncan onto HMS Kent till he was promoted taking command of HMS Zebra where he served under the late Lord Nelson at Copenhagen and Boulogne. Made a Post Captain during the short peace till twenty months ago was appointed Regulating Captain at Belfast. Says he believes Captain Hope under whom he served as a Lieutenant would recommend him. As a young man he seeks more active service.
