Folios 270-271: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. John Fenn was impressed by Lieutenant Dathan from the Diana of London., John West, Master, but claims to be an Apprentice. Information from Thomas Scott, Seaman, indicates that Fenn had served an Apprenticeship before on the Betsey of London, Samuel Plumb, Owner. The description on the protection notice is vague and John Fenn may be older than he claims.
Folios 272-273: enclosed with folios 270-271. Letter dated 14 February 1807 by John Hughes, Shipowner, 3 George Yard, Lombard Street. He forwards the Indenture document for his Apprentice, John Fenn, and asks for his discharge.
Folios 274-275: enclosed with folios 270-271. Protection notice for John Fenn.
Folio 276: enclosed with folios 270-271. Lord Ellenborough, the Guildhall, London. An affidavit sworn on 14 February 1807 by John Hughes, Shipowner, that John Fenn is his Apprentice and has not served at sea in any capacity.
