Folios 262-263: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. He provides details of the impressment of John Cockburn, Keelman, by Lieutenant Mitchell. John Cockburn claims to be exempt from impressment as he is a Keelman, but Captain Charleton argues that for this to be so he has to have been registered by his employers and that this has not happened.
Folios 264-265: enclosed with folios 262-263. Letter dated 3 February 1807 from the employer of John Cockburn asking for his release.
