Folios 251-252: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Mr Wolff, Danish Consul, has applied for the release of Hans Quist. Investigations by Mr Cockerill, Agent for Mr. Bucknell, indicate that the man has assumed a false identity and is actually Frederick Coates. The protection notice has been altered and the marriage certificate for Bet Suggit has discrepencies. Bet Suggit is a notorious reprobate in South Shields.
Folios 253-254: enclosed with folios 251-252. John Cockerill. He encloses the details of the marriage of Thomas Coates to Elizabeth Suggitt in 1795 and her subsequent history. Hans Quist has lived with Elizabeth Suggitt for some years and has several children with her. Hans Quist is known by the neighbours as Frederick Coates.
