Folios 247-248: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. He gives details regarding the impressment of Richard Bolam, Mate of the Isabella, by Lieutenant Mitchell. Information was laid by a shipmate that he was a deserter, but Captain Charleton believes that this may not be true and was an act of revenge.
Folio 249: enclosed with folios 247-248. Petition dated 29 January 1807 by Richard Bolam, Mate, the Isabella of Newcastle. He claims that he has never previously served in the navy and is not a deserter. He asks to be released.
Folio 250: enclosed with folios 247-248. Nicholas Fairles, Justice, North Shields. A formal certificate sworn on 4 November 1806 by Richard Forster, Master, the Isabella, confirming that Richard Bolam is Mate of the ship.
