Folios 240-241: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Robert Davison was impressed on information supplied by John Davison and appeared to be of an appropriate age. On the urging of his mother the family have now confessed that they sent him to sea as he was leading an idle and dissolute life and that he is not liable for impressment. They ask for his release.
Folios 242-243: enclosed with folios 240-241. Letter dated 10 January 1806 by John Knight, King Street, Southwark. He writes on behalf of Quintin Blackburn, North Shields, to ask for the discharge of his Apprentice, Robert Davison. He says that Robert Davison is 17 years of age and has no experience of the sea.
