Folios 237-238: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. He writes concerning the impressment of John Walker from the Ceres by Lieutenant Dathan. He doubts that John Walker is a proper Mate as Robert Blacker, Master, claims and believes that he is just an Apprentice.
Folio239: enclosed with folios 237-238. Letter dated 15 July 1807 by A Alderson, Tokenhouse Yard. He asks for the release of John Walker who he says is the Chief Mate of the Ceres. He says that John Walker had the correct documents when he was impressed and that his impressment was against Admiralty instructions.
