Folio 421: Samuel Colquitt, HMS Princess, Liverpool. Receipt of letter enclosing an American Protection from Mr Lyman for the discharge of William Freeman, said to be a citizen of the United States. States that it appears he came in an American ship to Newry 12 months ago. He had sustained injuries when a mast fell and was left there. Afterwards he came to Liverpool and was in the General Infirmary for some time. He was advised to return to Ireland to complete his cure. When he recovered he came to Liverpool in the American ship Bristol Packet, intending to proceed to New York to his family. He matches the description in the document and says he was born in White Street, Philadelphia, although he has a slight Irish accent.
