Folio 342: Samuel Colquitt, HMS Princess, Liverpool. Replies to a letter enclosing an application from Jeremiah Galven for his discharge. States that this man has produced affidavits from respectable persons that he was never at sea except as a passenger to and from Ireland. He is a partner with his father in law who is a considerable shoemaker in Liverpool and has a wife and 3 children.
Folios 343-344: enclosure with folio 342. Letter dated 11 February 1806 from Jeremiah Galven, HMS Princess, Liverpool, to William Marsden, Admiralty Office, London. He has applied several times for his discharge without an answer. He was sent on board 10 weeks ago under the impress laws. He has never been at sea and is a shoemaker by trade. He has a wife and 3 small children entirely dependent on him. He had just arrived from Cork and started business.
