Folio 320: Samuel Colquitt, HMS Princess, Liverpool. Replies to a letter enclosing a petition from T Vaisey for the discharge of Robert Chadwick and William Edwards on production of substitutes. States that they appear to be active healthy youths of 19 or 20 years of age and have been at sea 3 years each. They were apprentices, but having run away from their Master he gave up their indentures.
Folio 321: enclosure with folio 320. Letter dated 5 February 1806 from Thomas Vaisey and William Street, Liverpool, to William Marsden, Admiralty Office, London. They are enclosing a petition.
Folios 322-323: enclosure with folio 320. Petition dated 5 February 1806 from Mary Chadwick and Margaret Edwards of Liverpool. They are sisters and both widows. Their sons Robert Chadwick and William Edwards were both apprenticed in the ship Union in the London cheese trade from Liverpool. After serving a short time they were persuaded to run away by some evil minded people for which reason they were put on board HMS Princess. Asks for their discharge on production of 3 substitutes.
