Folios 233-234: George Ralph Collier, HMS Minerva, Plymouth. Is sending a letter addressed to Matthew Smith, a deserter who absconded on the night of 18 [March 1806] with 3 other men, cutting away the yawl which was not hoisted in as HMS Minerva does not have a fore yard. Three sets of descriptions were given to the Port Admiral at Plymouth, but he is enclosing Matthew Smith's description, judging that he may be in London or the vicinity.
Folio 234A: enclosure with folios 233-234. Description of Matthew Smith. He entered HMS Minerva 29 January 1806, pressed from the Ceres, Able Seaman, 24 years old, physical description, place of abode Shields.
