Folios 319-320: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reply to letter dated 14 April 1806 in the case of John Simpson, said to be an American and impressed at Shields in June 1804. No such name as John Simpson appears to have passed through this Rendezvous during the years 1804 or 1805, neither does it appear that any man of the name Simpson, impressed at this place during that period has represented himself as being American or produced any documents to that effect.
