Description

Folios 238-239: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reply to letter dated 2 January 1806 in the case of Robert Turner. He was impressed at South Shields 6 December 1805 as being known by Mr John Reed, Midshipman of the Gang to be employed in the Providence Smack of Harwich before his present Master.

Folio 240: enclosure with folios 238-239. Certificate that Robert Turner, son of Robert Turner of Needham was an apprentice to Captain William Sheer of the Favorite belonging to the Port of Ipswich.

Folios 241-242: enclosure with folios 238-239. Petition dated 1 January 1806 by William Sheer. That his apprentice was impressed at Shields. I enclose his indentures and certificate and request he be discharged.

Folios 243-244: enclosure with folios 238-239. Letter dated 31 December 1805 by Thomas Ferguson, No 3 George Yard, Lombard Street, to John Barrow . Covering letter for an affidavit of Mr Mathews, Master of the ship Mary, also the Articles of the said vessel [stating] that Jonathan Wood is the bona fide Mate. He was impressed in Shields by and Officer named Grant and is now on board HMS Magnanime. Request he be discharged.
