Folios 311-312: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reports on the case of Jens Anderson, said to be Swede, whose discharge has been applied for by Lars Gill, Swedish Consul. States that Jens Anderson was impressed at North Shields on 19 August 1805 and was detained as having no documentation to prove who he was. Advises that after some days, a birth certificate for Anderson, and proof of good behaviour from a Bailiff in a Swedish village, was shown to him by the Swedish Vice Consul at North Shields, and supposing that this s the reason for Lass Gill applying to the Admiralty, he has discharged Anderson as per the order in the Admiralty letter.
