Folios 292-293: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Requests guidance on what is the legal stamp in Ireland for Indentures of Apprenticeships. Describes a case where an Apprentice had his Indenture upon a five shilling stamp, and the Master of the ship asserted that this was the proper stamp used in Ireland. Advises that the boy was discharged as his did not have 2 years service at sea.
