Folios 275-276: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reports on the case of Robert Burnet whose discharge has been applied for by James Duffin in the enclosed letter. States that Robert Burnet was impressed at South Shields on 2 April 1805 and detained as being a stow away, being then employed before the mast, although he had been formerly a Mate of the same vessel. Explains his reasons for believing affidavits as proof of a man being a Mate are inadequate.
Folios 277-278: enclosure with folios 275-276. Letter dated 25 July 1805, from James Duffin, 9 Clare Court, Drury Lane, London to the Admiralty. Applies for the discharge of Robert Burnet, Chief Mate of the Francis of London.
