Folios 207-208: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reports on the case of Robert Byrand, impressed at the Castle, public house, on 27 April 1805, whose discharge has been applied for by G W Bayhes in enclosed letter. States enclosed certificate is a clumsy forgery which no man in the Commission of Peace would pick up or sign.
Folios 209-210: enclosure with folios 207-208. Letter dated 27 May 1805, from G W Bayhes, Irongate Wharf Tower, London, to the Admiralty. Requests the discharge of Robert Bryand, Chief Mate of the Mary Ann, William Lightly, Master, of the port of Hull, impressed on 27 April 1805 and sent on board HMS Eliza at North Shields. States Robert Byrand was in possession of an Affidavit which is enclosed.
Folio 211: enclosure with folios 209-210. Affidavit dated 11 April 1805, of William Lightly, Master Mariner, of Gainsborough, Lincolnshire, sworn before Robert Sheffield, Justice of the Peace, Lincolnshire. States that he is the Master of the Mary Ann of Hull, lying on the River Trent and employed in the county coasting trade and that Robert Byrand, aged about 30, is employed as the Mate of the Mary Ann. Contains a physical description of Robert Byrand.
