Folios 162-163: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reports on the cases of Christian Venslee and John Homann, said to be Prussians, and whose discharge has been applied for by Mr Fridag, Prussian Consul. States that Christian Venslee, impressed at Newcastle on 16 February 1805, is believed to be an Englishman and his physical appearance did not match that described on the Certificate of Protection from Mr Fridag. Advises John Homann, impressed at North Shields on 11 March 1805, had at first pretended to belong to the outward bound Greenland ships but then, as he did not appear on the lists, produced a Protection Certificate from Mr Fridag, but the physical description did not match.
