Description

Folios 136-137: William Charleton, Regulating Captain, North Shields. Reports the case of David Nuccoll, impressed at Sunderland on 21 February 1805 and detained for service having previously been to sea. States Nuccoll had no certificate of his age nor did the Master of the ship and that he looked older than the enclosed certificate suggests.

Folios 138-139: enclosure with folios 136-137. Petition dated 12 March 1805, of James Nuccoll, Mariner, Kings Lynn to the Admiralty. States that his son David Nuccoll, under age servant, on board the Catherine and Isabella of Kings Lynn, James Carswell, Master was impressed at Shields and currently detained there. States that his son was not more than 16 years old on 12 December 1804 as can be seen from attached register of his birth. Asks for his son's immediate discharge.

Folio 140: enclosure with folios 138-139. Extract, dated, 5 March 1805, from Public Records of the parish of Alloa, County Clackmannan. States that David is the lawful son of James Nuccoll, Seaman, and Mary Proud, and born 12 December 1788 and baptised 20 December 1788.
