Incorporated under Severn Valley Railway Act 20th August 1853 and leased to West Midland Railway Company by agreement dated 2nd November 1860 and Severn Valley Railway (Leasing) Act 14th June 1860.
The company was amalgamated with the Great Western Railway Company under the Great Western Railway Act 1st August 1870 and the Great Western Railway Act of 18th July 1872.
