Folios 329-330: John Clements, Regulating Officer, Leith. Is sending a letter from Mr Robertson, Magistrate in Banff, about the attacks for enemy privateers. He is sending the logs of HMS Pincher and Safeguard who were cruising off this coast and have now been ordered to Buchaness and Montrose and also the log of HMS Meteor who has been with the convoy of Greenlandmen from Dunbar. Lieutenant Pearson of HMS Meteor spoke to HMS Safeguard and Pincher and Captain Clayton of HMS Prince William spoke to them off Aberdeen where they said they had chased privateers but could not reach her. There are no other gunships available.
