Folios 162-163: John Chesshyre, HMS Plover, Sheerness. Henry Kennet has appeared to be 1st Lieutenant but John Nairne is likely to be out of hospital shortly. If the Admiralty wish to appoint another 1st Lieutenant, he suggests that Mr Dezerat is chosen, who is a very good Seaman while Mr Kennet is indolent and inexperienced although Senior in years to both. If he is appointed, the Board is likely to offend two good officers. Mr Kennet's baggage has not arrived so he is not on board yet.
