Folios 242-243: Isaac Cotgrave, HMS Volcano, Plymouth. Reports that Thomas Carder was appointed Boatswain of the ship on 23 August 1798, but has not taken up his warrrant or appeared aboard ship. As the current Boatswain, Richard Hosking, has been appointed to HMS Voltigeur, asks that Boatswain's Mate John Bunt be promoted to take his place. Bunt is an able and deserving man.
