Folios 215-216: John Cooke, Porchester, Hampshire. Would not have troubled the Admiralty about his son again so soon, but fears the matter might have been overlooked. No order has arrived with the Commissioner [at Portsmouth] for his son to be entered and the two vacancies remain open. Wishes to know whether his son is likely to fill one of them before the time comes for him to return to his school. He saw Captain Cummings the other day, and hopes the pineapple he sent to Evan Nepean has arrived.
