Folios 195-196: Edward Henry Columbine, the Sea Fencibles, Hastings. Reports that when a French privateer appeared off Hasting this morning, Mr Wenham offered his cutter the Lion and Commander Columbine put a number of the Sea Fencibles aboard her and sent her in pursuit. The privateer was captured and brought back to the roads. She was the Success of Cherbourg, Nicholas Dubois, Master, and had been out four days without making a capture. The Hastings men came forward readily when asked.
