Folios 131-132: Cuthbert Collingwood, HMS Excellent, Spithead. John Fleming has served as Boatswain of his ship for the last two years, having been appointed by Admiral the Earl St Vincent on the death of the previous Boatswain. Encloses the warrant from Admiral St Vincent and asks for it to be confirmed.
Folio 133: enclosed with folios 131-132. Warrant dated 6 March 1797 by Admiral Sir John Jervis, Commander in Chief in the Mediterranean, HMS Victory, the River Tagus, appointing John Fleming as Boatswain of HMS Excellent.
