Folios 83-84: George Cockburn, HMS Minerve, Portsmouth. Encloses a letter from his Second Lieutenant, Thomas James Maling.
Folio 85: enclosed with folios 83-84. Letter dated 29 June 1798 from Lieutenant Thomas James Maling, HMS Minerve, to Captain George Cockburn. A French boy, Jean Juglas, served with him in HMS Cumberland, but was sent to a prison ship during the mutiny. Asks if he can be discharged from Forton Hospital into HMS Minerve to act as his servant.
