Folios 215-216: John Cooke, HMS Quebec, Spithead. Reports his arrival on Captain Bissett, HMS Janus'’s orders. Parted company with HMS Janus by signal on coast of Ireland 25th with the ships on the list he encloses that bore up the St Georges Channel. Signaled the ships bound for Bristol which he repeated with a gun. 29th by St David’s Head one of them signaled to speak requesting he made the best of his way with two more, feeling themselves in perfect safety. A southward gale lasted all day and night, induced him to acquiesce, he making his way to Spithead.
Folios 217-218: enclosed in folios 215-216: Captain Cooke and James Gambon, Carpenter. Lists the defects of HMS Quebec. Bowsprit sprung; Fore top rotten; Four gangway knees broke; Gun deck ironwork; Capstan sprung; several sheets of copper on the ship’s bottom.
